March Mom of the Month, Erin Mann

Instructor, Angela Bridgford: "Erin inspires me! She is a hands-on mom to Riley and McKenna, is committed to her fitness/wellness goals, always pushing herself in our SS classes and her family serves and invests time in her church community. She makes being a mom of two look easy! Erin, thank you for being an inspiration to so many of your fellow SS mamas! If Lillie had a spot to say something, she'd point out how much fun she has playing with Riley too!"

This month we recognize ERIN MANN for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda Stroller Strides Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, ERIN," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!

1. Who are the members of your family?
Husband Jon, Riley (3) and McKenna (14 months)

2. What is or was your career? I taught middle school language arts and social studies for five years.  Currently, I am at home with my kids.

3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of North Orange County and what has it done for you?  I have been a member since July 2012.  It has done many great things for me such as increasing my endurance, raising my energy level (to keep up with the kids...) and continuing to help me feel confident about my body after two kids.  Also, it has been a great place for my kids to meet new friends and to play.

4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?  I never knew how much enjoyment one can get from going to the park or exploring at the Fullerton Arboretum.

5. Favorite website(s)?  Pinterest (extremely addicting) and Facebook.

6. List three current obsessions.  Rediscovering my love for Harry Potter books and reading in general, organization, and trying to do things with the family.

7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?  Disneyland trips, spontaneous dancing in the living room, and hopscotch in the back yard.

8. Any tips for other moms out there?  Consider your child's energy level/attention span/level of tiredness when making plans, and have a back-up plan.  Patience is a virtue and a necessity.  "Yes you are loved, no you cannot have your own way." (quote from the pastor at my church in regards to kids).
